How to copy paste from citrix to my mac ?
I had a nightmare last night trying to figure out how to simply copy-paste from Citrix to my Mac os X Lion.
After 4hours spent on this matter, I finally found a solution to Copy-Paste text, images and any type of files from a remote connection right through your local Mac.
I will explain to you, if you’re having same troubles doing so. By the same time it will limitate your wasted time on internet trying to google-out a solution.
- You will need Citrix Online plug-in (which took me very long to find because all the links posted and hosted on Citrix website are dead.
Here’s where you can download easily citrix online plugin 11.2 - Once downloaded and installed the .pkg, it won’t appear in your “applications” folder.
You will just need to Right click on your .ICA file and choose “Open With -> Citrix Online plug-in” - The connection will be set up and you will be able to see the other party computer window (here a Windows PC)

Screenshot-citrix-online-plugin-11.2 - Now I will show you how to copy-paste using citrix in any directory of your mac!
First you will have to make sure Citrix is correctly set up.
In the toolbar select >Drives -> /Users/your-computer-name (:C) In other words it’s the local drive of your imac that you need to map there. Generally the default drive is C:drive
Citrix online plugin menu bar If your drive is not present like in the screenshot, you will need to map it manually.
Go to ->citrix online plugin in the menu bar ->Preferences >Devices tab
Here you will see your mapped drives. If it’s not present just click on the [+] icon and select the drive you wish to map (it’s the drive you wish to transfer your downloads on ie:Devices as external hard drive or any Local folder)IMPORTANT: Don’t forget to change the Read and Write attributes of your new Mapped drive to: “Always”

Citrix online plugin map a device - At this point, you’re correctly set up and ready to begin any copy-paste function from your remote to your local Mac.
To copy
- Browse your remote computer and Right-Click ->Copy on the file/folder you wish to Copy.
To paste
- Now to paste, you will need to do that in Citrix itself, Don’t try to paste outside Citrix window it will NOT work. The proper way to paste is as followed: - Your Mac drive is Mapped on the remote computer. So you will need to browse through the mapped drive on your Remote computer. On the remote computer Just go to ->My computer >
Search for your mapped drive which is NOT the (C:) but the $C if you mapped your drive with the Letter C. If you mapped your drive with the letter X search for $X.Once you find it, you can browse it and PASTE the content you COPIED earlier!
PS: Keyboard shotcuts also work under Citrix with CMD+C (copy) and CMD+V (paste) if it doesn’t try Control+C (copy) Control+V (paste)
